Dick Phillips, CEO

Dick Phillips is a 1967 graduate of the University of Georgia. He taught and coached high school students for ten years, followed by three years as an assistant football coach at Vanderbilt University.

Mr. Phillips spent his first seven years in the service industry as the Developmental Cryogenic Engineer for Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., followed by five years managing stores for BF Goodrich in Chattanooga, TN, Dalton, GA and Jacksonville, FL.

While working in the insurance industry in 1988, Mr. Phillips was made aware of a “new” problem facing his DOT clients with the introduction of drug screening regulations. During that period of time, he did training for several state trucking associations including Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Indiana and Minnesota.

Dick has four sons: Grady is the President of Corporate Medical Services; Brian is a missionary with Campus Outreach, who serves in Australia with his wife and four children; David works for Hamilton County Government and resides in Cleveland, TN; Richard is a Vice President for Regions Bank in Birmingham, AL.

Grady Phillips, President

Grady graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1997, with a BS in Civil & Environmental Engineering. He is licensed to practice Engineering and Land Surveying in the State of Tennessee. Grady worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, managing 30 employees and $40 million in construction contracts over 5 years.

In 2003, Grady retired from TDOT and purchased Clinton Surveying Services, LLC, a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying business. In 2007, he sold the business to a large design and construction company, and stayed on as manager and chief surveyor until 2011.

Grady has been involved intermittently in CMS since 1995, and joined full time in October 2011. On January 1, 2012, Grady became the President of Corporate Medical Services, Inc.

Larry Cole, Director of Operations

Larry is a Georgia Tech graduate with a BA in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Corporate Medical Services, he spent 32 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority, working at a wide variety of industrial sites, including Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant, and other facilities throughout TVA’s seven-state region. He has significant experience in operational economics which landed him in TVA’s Power Operations Center, managing day-ahead planning operations; he then went on to join TVA’s long-term planning organization, contributing to the development of TVA’s 20 year Integrated Resource Plan. His last work at TVA was in the Customer Relations group, building collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.

In 1996, Larry began providing consulting support and is responsible for taking CMS from a laptop based organization to the technically complex organization it is today. He joined CMS full-time in 2014.

Larry developed CMS’s state of the art operating system, including what might be considered the fastest negative drug screen reporting for the receipt of the lab documentation, The WebPortal and the internal processing systems. He manages daily IT operations, focusing on streamlining processes, establishing controls and monitoring compliance. He is a strong customer advocate and is continuously looking for new ways to creatively meet CMS clients’ needs.

Joseph Sentef Jr, M.D.

Dr. Sentef is the newest addition to the CMS team and has decades of medical experience. At the beginning of his career, Dr. Sentef was the CEO/President of Physicians Care: Family & Occupational Medicine in Chattanooga, TN, and a consultant for U.S. Xpress. In 2001, Dr. Sentef became the CEO/President of Sentef Medical Centers, served as a Designated Medical Officer for UNUM, and was employed as a Medical Director for Shaw Industries, Mohawk Industries, and Cigna, and a medical consultant for Lincoln Financial. His knowledge and experience of the relationship between best business practices and medical testing are a valuable asset to the CMS team.
